Regular diet as tolerated. |

If you must sneeze, sneeze with the mouth open. Do not close the mouth and sneeze or pinch your nose and stifle the sneeze, as this may "blow" the patch off the eardrum, until after checking with the doctor at your post-op visit. This is extremely important. |

Keep the operated ear dry, except for medications as prescribed. |

Do not expect to hear normally out of the operated ear right away. Return of hearing may take up to 6 weeks. |

Do not blow your nose or "snort" in forcefully, or do anything that might "pop" your ear, until checking with the doctor at your first post?op visit. This is extremely important. |

Call the office on the day of your discharge for your follow?up appointment time. |

Use ear drops as directed by your doctor. |
