Policy for Emergencies & After-Hours Calls

Please limit all after-hour calls to truly urgent matters that can't wait until regular hours. If you experience an emergency after office hours, call our office at (502) 893-0159. If you have a life-threatening emergency, call EMS at 911 or proceed directly to the Emergency Room.

If you need to visit an Emergency Room for an urgent medical condition, please note: We provide Emergency Room coverage for only two hospitals: Norton Suburban Hospital, and Baptist Hospital East.

If you go to an Emergency Room other than Norton Suburban Hospital, or Baptist Hospital East, the physician in the Emergency Room will call their doctor on call. This doctor will most likely not be a member of our practice.

Fortunately, most problems do not require a trip to the Emergency Room. Most of the time, our patients recovery after medical treatment is predictable ~~ they get better. However, sometimes diseases just don't behave the way you or we would like ~~ you don't get better.

If you experience a problem with your medicines, or your illness is not responding to the treatment recommended, please schedule a follow-up appointment so that we can reevaluate your health care problems. We realize that sometimes it is not possible to return to the office for a visit or that problems occur when the office is closed. If you have recently undergone surgery and you are experiencing a problem, please refer to the instructional materials you were given at the time of your surgery prior to calling. If your questions are not covered in our materials, please call our office for further instructions. Our office hours are 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday - Friday.

Please limit questions about medicines / refills / or routine matters to calls during office hours. It is our policy not to refill routine medicines after hours. If you are running low on a prescription ~ plan ahead ~ call us during normal business hours. If your last visit was longer than six months ago, we will likely ask you to schedule an appointment for medicine refills. Most long-term refills can be provided by your primary care doctor.

We hope this information is helpful to you. Thank you for choosing The Sinus CenterTM for your specialized care.
